The School’s Commitment

We will aim to:

  • be welcoming and open to all parents, and offer you opportunities tobecome involved in school life;
  • provide a happy, secure and stimulating learning environment foryour child;
  • provide your child with a balanced and broad curriculum that istailored to meet her/his individual needs and to encourage your child tofulfil her/his potential;o offer a high standard of teaching across the curriculum;
  • ensure your child’s safety whilst at school; and consistently enforce the school’s discipline and anti-bullying policies at all times;
  • keep you regularly informed of your child’s progress throughconsultation meetings, reports and contact books, and fullyinformed about school events;
  • discuss with you promptly any concerns there may be, asappropriate;
  • provide your child with a moral framework within which he/she will play a full and positive part in the community;
  • reward children’s achievements by praise and encouragement.

The Pupil’s Commitment

I know that I am expected to:

  • do my best at school;
  • arrive in the classroom on time, first thing in the morning and during theschool day;o keep the school rules and to understand the consequences of notdoing so;
  • be polite, friendly and considerate to all staff, visitors and pupils;
  • look after our school, our equipment and out environment and to respectproperty belonging to others;
  • do my homework when asked;o wear my school uniform each day;
  • bring my PE kit on the correct day.

The Parents’/Guardians’ Commitment

I/we will aim to:

  • ensure my/our child attends regularly and on time. I will notify theschool on the morning of each first absence, in line with the policydetailed in the school prospectus;
  • ensure that my/our child is only absent from school for health orreligious reasons or for holidays approved in advance by the school;o ensure that my/our child wears school uniform every day (except onspecified school visits) as detailed in the school brochure;
  • encourage my/our child to work hard at school and provide asuitable environment at home for homework. I undertake to read and sign the contact book each week;
  • become familiar with the approaches of the school as outlined inthe school prospectus;
  • support the school’s behaviour, discipline and anti-bullying policies;
  • inform the school promptly of anything which may affect my/ourchild’s behaviour or performance at school and any changes inhome circumstances or personal details, eg change of name,address, emergency telephone number or doctor;
  • support my/our child and the school by attending relevant meetings, eg: parent consultation evenings, curriculum meetings, open days etc;
  • return necessary correspondence (consent forms, reply slips, etc) by the required date;
  • encourage my/our child to take responsibility for her/his own actions and to realise their commitment to the school.
